WHYTE DISMANTLER

For 2022, I am offering Whyte Dismantler for organizations and groups only. If you are individually interested, please consider talking to your co-workers or the group you are with to create a group within your space. You need a minimum of 4 participants. Please look under services. The descriptions below are a good guideline for what is offered. Thank you for your interest!

WHO: This is a series of conversations solely for non-BIPOC persons who want to commit towards understanding, disrupting, and dismantling racism faced by IBPoC. This is the opportunity for people who are of White/European ancestry who are wishing to engage in anti-racism work personally and professionally to participate in a facilitated discussion.

WHAT: 4 facilitated discussions focusing on a specific area each week. This is a collaborative experience and not a lecture. You will be expected to listen, ask questions, challenge yourself, thoughts, biases AND the systemic system of racism. Come prepared to engage in the active work of anti-racism. Please see specific details below*.

$$$$: You Decide, but it is not free. Based on dismantling part of our system, your organization will determine the price they pay.

Week 1: Racism 101 Ask any question you have ever wanted to ask about racism, white guilt, microaggressions, colour erasure, white fragility, white progressives, white supremacy, being human, institutionalized racism. ….you get the point.

Week 2 :Why Is Anti-Racism So Hard? Let’s talk about your barriers in doing this lifework. Why is it so difficult to interrupt racism, especially with your friends, family, co-workers?

Week 3: Why Don’t I know? Why can’t I figure out what to do next? What am I supposed to do and why don’t I know? This conversation will take the barriers that you face and discuss both the systemic and personal reasons for you not being able to figure out what to do next.

Week 4: Become a Dismantler You will figure out how to continue to be part of the solution and not continue to be perpetuate the problem.

Final Notes: These meetings WILL NOT be recorded. I do not recommend IBPoCs join this group because it centers on whiteness and maybe extremely resurfacing (i.e., triggering). Instead, join a group to dismantle racism designed specifically for you. IBPoC dismantlers who focus on disrupting racism between our groups.
